Terms of Service

1. Who these terms are between

These terms are an agreement between [[LEGAL ENTITY NAME]] ("Drabble", "we"), of [[REGISTERED ADDRESS]], and the person or organization that opens an account ("you"). By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you are accepting on behalf of a club, school or team, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.

2. Accounts

Accounts are issued through our identity service at id.scaledapps.com. You are responsible for what happens under your account, for keeping your sign-in details to yourself, and for telling us promptly if you believe someone else has them.

Accounts are for adults. Drabble is a tool for the people who run youth sports — coaches, administrators, parents and guardians. We do not knowingly issue accounts to children under 13. Information about a young athlete reaches Drabble because an organization or a guardian entered it, not because the athlete signed up.

A person may belong to more than one organization at once. Roles, and everything they permit, are resolved per organization — being an administrator of one club grants you nothing in another.

3. What you may and may not do

Use Drabble to record, analyse and share sport. Do not:

• upload anything you do not have the right to upload, including photographs and video of people who have not agreed to be recorded;
• enter information about a child if you have no authority over that child's record;
• use the service to harass, endanger or expose anyone, or to publish an athlete's information against the wishes of whoever is responsible for them;
• attempt to reach records you have not been granted access to, or to work around a visibility setting, an access code or a paywall;
• resell the service, or scrape it in bulk, without our written agreement;
• put medical or health information into Drabble. The product has no field for it, and it is not designed to hold it.

We may suspend an account that is being used this way. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.

4. Who owns what

Your records are yours. Rosters, statistics, media, schedules, plans and everything else you enter remain yours. You grant us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store it, process it, render the pages you have chosen to publish, and send the messages you ask us to send. We do not sell it, we do not advertise against it, and we do not use it to train anyone's model.

Where a record concerns an athlete who holds their own profile, both the organization that recorded it and the athlete whose performance it describes may hold a copy. That is the point of a portable record, and consent to move responsibility for one is asked for explicitly in the product.

Ours stays ours. The software, the interface, the coaching library and catalog content we publish, and the Drabble name and marks remain ours. A subscription is permission to use them, not a transfer.

Catalog content you install stays available while your plan covers it. Content you author yourself is yours, including a copy you detached from ours to edit.

5. Payment

• Annual, in advance. Every plan is billed for a year. Club plans are charged per team; athlete plans are charged per athlete.
• Card payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
• Renewal is automatic unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time in the app; the plan then runs to the end of the term you have paid for and does not renew.
• Refunds. Payments are non-refundable. Drabble has a free tier with no time limit, so you can use the product fully before you buy it. You can cancel at any time — your plan then runs to the end of the term you have paid for and does not renew. We will always fix a billing error on our side.
• Price changes apply from your next renewal, never inside a term you have already paid for. We will tell you before a renewal at a new price.
• Taxes may be added where we are required to collect them.
• Unpaid accounts. If a payment fails we will try again and contact you. A plan that lapses drops to the free tier's limits — it does not delete anything.

6. Free plans, limits and changes to the service

The free tier is a real product, not a trial, and we intend to keep it that way. It carries published limits — one team, and allowances for players, games and media storage — which are listed on our pricing page. Those limits are set well above what a single real team uses; if one fires on legitimate use, tell us, because that is a mistake in our number.

Export is free forever, on every plan. We will not hold a season's records hostage to a subscription.

We add and improve features continuously, and occasionally retire one. If we withdraw something you are paying for and cannot offer an equivalent, we will refund the unused part of your term. We will give reasonable notice before a change that materially reduces what a paid plan includes.

7. Publishing, and what is visible

Nothing in Drabble is public because it exists. Every organization, team, athlete, coach, game and series carries its own visibility setting, and the organization sets its own policy over the top. When you publish a page, you are choosing to make that record readable — please make sure you have the authority and the agreement to do so, particularly where a minor is concerned.

Contact and guardian information is never public under any setting, and cannot be placed on a public page. That is enforced in the product, not merely promised here.

A chosen @handle is licensed for the term you pay for. We may reclaim a handle that impersonates someone, that is bought to resell, or that lapses unpaid — the lapse process gives notice before anything is released.

8. Automatically generated writing

Drabble can produce written recaps and coaching prompts from your own statistics, using a language model that we run on our own hardware. It is generated text: it can be wrong, and it should be read before it is shared. You are responsible for anything you publish from it. Athlete data is not sent to a third-party model provider.

9. Ending the agreement

You can stop using Drabble and close your account at any time. We may end this agreement if you break these terms materially and do not fix it after notice, or if we stop offering the service — in which case we will give as much warning as we reasonably can and let you export everything.

After an account closes, we delete its records on request, subject to anything we are legally required to keep. Deleted media is removed from storage 30 days after deletion.

10. Warranties and liability

We work hard to keep Drabble accurate and available, but it is provided "as is". We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, or that every statistic it derives will be free of error — a stat sheet is only ever as good as what was called into it during the game.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights we will give notice before it takes effect, and the "last updated" date above always tells you when the current version was published. Continuing to use Drabble after that date means you accept the new version.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [[GOVERNING LAW / JURISDICTION]], and disputes will be heard in the courts of [[VENUE]].
